Open enrollment for Student Health Insurance

Northeast State encourages every student to have health insurance. However, there is not a Tennessee Board of Regents (TBR) sponsored plan for domestic students this academic year due to market constraints. Instead, a web site has been established for students where they can compare various health care exchange and marketplace options.

The exchange will also tell students if they qualify for free or low-cost coverage available through Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Please visit: www.TBRstudentHIX.com

National Eating Disorders Awareness Week

Adjusting to college life can be difficult for many and the desire to fit in can make students susceptible to eating disorders like anorexia, bulimia and compulsive overeating. 95% of people with eating disorders are between the ages of 12 and 25 and the majority of those who have an eating disorder don’t seek treatment, often as a result of shame or social stigma. Events to reduce the stigma attached to eating disorders and let students know that help is available are currently being planned.
