Northeast State’s regular schedule of classes includes
that offer students the opportunity to complete all or part of their coursework via the Internet. These online courses are different from the TN eCampus courses. Classes follow a traditional schedule or may meet only at selected times in a synchronous format throughout the semester (typically, students may meet with instructors four to five times on campus). To complete all requirements for these courses, students must be able to access the Internet through the college’s facilities or secure access on their own.
The purpose of the Office of Academic Computing is to direct the development of Internet courses and faculty training for web-based and technology enhanced instruction, provide assistance and information for academic areas relating to innovations in computing, and serve as a research source for students and faculty in the discovery and assessment of new technologies.
