American Sign Language Level II
Deaf or Hard of Hearing means a person cannot hear in the “normal” way, but this does not mean there is a deficiency. It simply means we must be creative in accomplishing certain tasks. Workforce Solutions of Northeast State is sponsoring an eight week, Level II course in American Sign Language (ASL). Level II takes basic vocabulary and grammar and hones it into a solid base for language competency.
At the completion of this course, students should be able to navigate more fluidly through facial expressions, non-manual markers, vocabulary and most importantly, context. Each class will also pepper with Deaf history and Deaf culture! Whether to simply enjoy the beauty of this visual language or to be functional in your work or community environment, this class will give you a “hand up” and put knowledge “at the tips of your fingers”.
