Work-Study Students

The Federal Work-Study Program offers students an opportunity to earn money for educational expenses.

Students are paid an hourly wage rate for work performed. Earnings may not exceed the amount of the award. These funds are not used to pay tuition and fees.

Eligible students may have the opportunity to perform community service on or off campus or work as tutors in local elementary schools for the America Reads Program.

Additional information is available in the Financial Aid Office in C2406.

Application Process

  1. View available positions that you are interested in.
  2. Submit application and list position of interest on application.
  3. Students will receive an email via their MyNortheast email regarding eligibility.
  4. Eligible students will be phoned to set up an interview with supervisors.

SKILLS:  Filing, Typing, Copy, Record Keeping, Basic Excel Computer skills, Scan Documents
MUST be dependable.

Not Major Specific, BUT prefer Office Systems Technology
SKILLS:  Filing, Copy, Answer Telephone, Basic Computer skills
MUST be dependable, have record keeping skills and be able to run errands.

TASKS:  Typing, Answer Telephone, Basic Computer skills, Receive visitors (Reception)
SKILLS:  Must be able to assist patrons in person or on the phone.  Use Ticket Agent Software, take and process orders, print tickets, provide general assistance to patrons.  Assist students, faculty and staff using the facility.  Provide information and directions to patrons.
8-10 hours per week up to 25 hours per week (can be split between 3 people)

Position 2-B

SKILLS:  Tutor in at least (1) needed subject, peers in a one on one environment.  Will work in the office when not tutoring.  Must be dependable with a patient demeanor in working with a diverse group of students and the public.
