Work-Study Students

The Federal Work-Study Program offers students an opportunity to earn money for educational expenses.

Students are paid an hourly wage rate for work performed. Earnings may not exceed the amount of the award. These funds are not used to pay tuition and fees.

Eligible students may have the opportunity to perform community service on or off campus or work as tutors in local elementary schools for the America Reads Program.

Position 1B

Box Office Assistant-Blountville

Theatre major preferred
SKILLS:  Cash handling, basic computer skills, customer service, typing filing, answering phone, check equipment, reception
8-10 hours per week
Monday through Wednesday 10:00 am to 12:30 pm only (could be split between 1 or 2 students)

Position 6B


Not Major Specific
SKILLS:  Grade of A or B required in one of the following subjects: Prob & Stats, Physics, Chemistry, Spanish, Biology, Anatomy and Physiology, Computer/Information Systems, Accounting, Pre-Cal/Calculus, Intermediate Algebra, English
8-10 hours per week

Position 11B

Student Worker-Blountville

SKILLS:  Must have completed the following course work-Composition I.  Type, file, copy, answer phone, record keeping, basic computer skills with Microsoft Word and basic internet research skills, run errands. Familiar with D2L.

Position 20B

Blountville Campus

Not Major Specific, BUT prefer Office Systems Technology
SKILLS:  Filing, Copy, Answer Telephone, Basic Computer skills
MUST be dependable, have record keeping skills and be able to run errands.
8-10 hours per week up to 20 (can be split between 2 people)
Monday all day Friday 1/2 day

Positions 1J

Student Worker-Johnson City

Not Major Specific
SKILLS:  Customer Service, filing, copy, reception, stocking supplies, answering telephone
8-10 hours per week
Monday and Wednesday 11:30-4:30 (can be split between 2 or 3 students)

America Reads

Positions AR 1, AR 2, AR 3

Prefer Education Majors, but not required
