My instructor said my login was the name portion of my e-mail address. How do I find my e-mail address? Every student at Northeast State is given a student e-mail account as part of their registration process. Most student e-mail addresses take the form "username"@stumail.northeaststate.edu. If your instructor does not have your e-mail address you may get it by contacting the Computer Services Office.

I go to the Desire2Learn login page but I can’t get any further. It says my username or password is invalid. Why can’t I login? This is caused by typing in either a username or password that is not recognized by Desire2Learn. Either the username or password the user is trying is incorrect, or the student has not yet been sent to Desire2Learn. NOTE: Students registering late have to have their registration information sent to Desire2Learn before they can log in. This is done overnight and may delay logging in until the next morning.

Why can I not see my current semester classes in D2L? Current semester classes are not available until the first day of classes, unless this is changed by the instructor. The course listings in D2L are cumulative. If you see the message "The Last 30 Accessed Classes" and a long list of past classes, you have exceeded the number of courses that can be seen on the home page and will have to search for your classes. Above the list is a box with a search button at the right. The user has to search for rest of the classes by typing a portion of the class name into the search box located above the course listing or enter in the 4 digit year and 1 digit month when the current semester started followed by a zero. Fall semester 2013 started in August so the code will be 201380. After this is entered and searched, you should see your classes. You will have to click on the classes and go into them for the classes to appear on your home page.

Why can I read e-mail within D2L but I cannot send mail? The compose screen in D2L is a popup window and often popup blockers will prevent the compose screen from appearing.
E-mail in D2L is a closed email system so you cannot send email to an email account outside of D2L.
