Does Northeast State provide health services for students? Yes, registered nurses are available to see students when they are sick, make recommendations on how to treat at home and when to call the doctor. Over-the-counter medications that may be beneficial for relieving symptoms are provided.

Can I get prescriptions from the health clinic? No, registered nurses cannot write prescriptions. They will help you with information on how to access free or reduced cost clinics in your area.

Where are the health clinics and when are they open? Northeast State Blountville clinic is room C2113, Kingsport is in the Health Related Professions building – Room 148, and Elizabethton is in room E112. Elizabethton and Kingsport clinics are open one day a week. Schedules and contact information can be found on the Health Service webpage at www.northeaststate.edu/healthservices. Nurses may not be available during all business hours. An appointment is recommended for your convenience, but walk-ins are welcome.
