What is the Student Needs Project? - Northeast State’s Student Needs Project (SNP) is a new program attempting to address non-academic, socioeconomic factors that impact student success and retention. These factors include housing, food security, transportation, parenting, and computer/Internet access.

Are there any funds/funding for the Student Needs Project? - Yes, Northeast State received a TBR Access & Diversity grant for 2013-2014. The grant will fund a mobile food pantry at various times throughout the school year, and attempt assist students with transportation-related issues, and temporarily displaced students with housing options.

How can students receive assistance/help from the Student Needs Project? - The Early Alert Referral Form can be completed and submitted online by faculty and/or staff. On the Early Alert Referral Form, both Student Needs Project and Personal/Socioeconomic Needs boxes should be checked and a brief explanation of the student’s situation in the “Further information/explanation of referral” box. A member of the Student Needs Project committee will follow-up to determine how best to help the student.
