How do I know if I am eligible for GI Bill educational benefits? – As a veteran, service member or dependent you may be eligible for educational benefits.  While we are not VA employees and do not process benefit applications we can help you understand the differences between the varying benefits and what you may be eligible for.  You can find information as well as eligibility criteria about each of the available programs by visiting www.gibill.va.gov.  Click on Post 9/11 GI Bill.

What do I need to do to apply for and begin receiving my educational benefits? – The application can be found at www.gibill.va.gov.  Click on “VONAPP” to be directed to the electronic application.  If you have never used the site before you will need to create a username and password.  In the dropdown box select the appropriate application.  Before you submit the application you will need to attach electronic copies of any supporting documentation you may have.  For veterans this would include your DD214 Member 4 copy.  For guard and reserve members this would include a copy of your Notice of Basic Eligibility and kicker contract.  For dependents this would include a copy of the veteran’s rating decision letter from the VA and documentation showing proof of relationship to the veteran.  If you do not feel comfortable doing this on your own you may make an appointment with the Office of Veterans Affairs and we can assist you.
Once the VA approves your application you will be sent your Certificate of Eligibility (COE).  You will need to provide a copy of this letter to the Office of Veterans Affairs so that we can submit your enrollment to the VA.  Once the VA receives your enrollment your benefits will begin.
