Testing Services
The Office
of Testing Services is located on the Blountville campus, in the Student
Services building, A205. The office administers a variety of tests. Please
click on the specific test for more information about it.
The GED
is required for all persons who do not have a high school
diploma and desire to attend a college or university.
ACT and SAT subscores in English, Math, and Reading place students 20
years and younger into developmental or college-level courses.
Click here for ACT Placement. Students 20 years and younger
who are high school graduates or GED recipients may take the COMPASS test.
The COMPASS test
is a placement exam required for all students 21 years of age who do not have
transfer credit in college English or college mathematics. COMPASS is also
required for students 20 years of age and younger who have less than a 19 on
their ACT English, math, and/or reading subscore.
The A2 Nursing
Entrance Exam is required for students who have completed the prerequisite
courses and are applying for for admission to the Northeast State nursing
program.
CLEP tests are available for students to
receive college credit.
The MAPP exit exam is required for students
graduating with an Associate degree.
