Northeast State Community College is seeking applicants for anticipated faculty positions beginning Fall, 2013 semester in the following fields of study:
Instructor – Nursing (Temporary, Full-time)
Participate in planning, revision and program development within the nursing curriculum. Provide academic advising for nursing and pre-nursing students. Provide classroom, clinical and lab instruction and evaluation. Actively participate in college professional activities and organizations. Assist in recruitment of students for t he program.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in nursing required. Current licensure as a registered nurse in Tennessee or compact state. Endorsed with appropriate credentials or advanced preparation in one of the following areas: Geriatric, Medical/Surgical, Obstetrics, Pediatrics or Psychiatric Care.
Instructor – Cardiovascular Technology
Provide instruction of the invasive Cardiovascular Technology component. Provide instructional support with registration and recruitment. Participate in evaluation of instruction through student, self, and supervisor evaluations. Has a thorough working knowledge of the community college cardiovascular technology curriculum. Teaching and advising responsibilities may occur in the evening, weekend and/or at off-campus locations.
Minimum Qualifications: Associate degree from a regionally accredited institution required, bachelor’s degree preferred. Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) required. Three years work experience preferred. Teaching experience required, teaching experience at the community college level preferred. Curriculum development and computer assisted instruction experience preferred.
Instructor – Art (Temporary, Full-Time)
Perform all duties associated with community college faculty, teach a full range of courses in Art; develop curriculum; and teach and develop internet, hybrid, and other distance learning courses/classes. Advising and teaching may occur in the evening, weekend, and/or off-campus locations including local high schools.
Minimum Qualifications: Master of Arts or Master of Fine Arts in art or a master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in art required. Computer literacy required, effective communications and interpersonal skills required. Three years of teaching experience at the post-secondary level preferred.
Instructor - Pre-Engineering and Mathematics
Perform all duties associated with community college faculty, teach a full range of courses in engineering and mathematics; develop curriculum; and teach and develop internet, hybrid, and other distance learning courses/classes. Advising and teaching may occur in the evening, weekend, and/or off-campus locations including local high schools.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in Engineering or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate semester hours in engineering required. Computer literacy, effective communications and interpersonal skills required. Three years of teaching experience at the post secondary level preferred.
All positions are contingent upon adequate funding. All degrees must be from regionally accredited institutions.
Salary range: Minimum – $31,940; Mid-Point – $35,470; Maximum - $41,550. Salary is determined by the college president based on related experience and education.

DEAN OF MATHEMATICS
Assist in institutional and divisional accreditation processes; prepare, maintain/monitor budgets; and provide assistance and direction in curriculum development for the division. Assist in implementing the Tennessee Board of Regents and the institutional policies for the division. Work with academic administrators in planning faculty and staff development programs. Serve as director of Learning Support responsible for annual, periodic, or special reports relevant to the Mathematics Division and Learning Support. Provide assistance and direction in division-specific grants. Hire, train, monitor, and evaluate full-time and adjunct faculty; demonstrate a commitment to customer service; and perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s degree in a mathematics-related field from an accredited institution required. Experience in developmental education (Learning Support) and in a comprehensive community college preferred.
Salary range: Minimum - $60,000; Mid-Point - $68,000; Maximum - $76,000. Salary is determined by the college president based on related experience and education.
