How drug convictions can affect your financial aid
Students convicted of a federal or state offense of selling or possessing illegal drugs that occurred while they were receiving federal student aid will be ineligible for federal funds. If students answered yes to the question about drug convictions on the FAFSA, they will have to complete the Drug Worksheet, make any necessary changes if necessary on their Student Aid Report (SAR), sign and return it to the address on the SAR.
If students are enrolled and are convicted while receiving federal aid, they must notify the Financial Aid Office immediately. They will lose eligibility for any federal aid at that point. They can become eligible again if they meet the conditions listed on the Drug Worksheet.
Students may call 1-800-433-3243 if they need help with this worksheet or have any questions.
