Educate and Grow Scholarship Program

Since 2001, the Educate and Grow Scholarship Program has been a resounding success!  The Office of Scholarship Programs and Student Needs received a total of 4,841 applications and awarded over 1,400 students more than $2.2 million in Educate and Grow scholarships.

Governor Bill Haslam, as part of the Drive to 55 initiative, signed into law the Tennessee Promise Scholarship that acts as a last-dollar program similar to Educate and Grow.  As a result of this initiative, the Educate and Grow Scholarship Program in its current form is transitioning into a new program as of spring 2016 contingent upon local funding.  There will not be an Educate and Grow application process for the 2015-2016 academic year.

The Office of Scholarship Programs and Student Needs at Northeast State will continue to serve the Educate and Grow students currently on our rosters until spring 2016.  Northeast State's Coordinator of County and State Scholarships, Joshua Johnson, will oversee all Educate and Grow and Tennessee Promise students and can be reached at 423.354.5235 or jajohnson@NortheastState.edu.  Contact the Office of Scholarship Programs and Student Needs at 423.279.7637, scholarships@NortheastState.edu or studentneeds@NortheastState.edu if you have questions regarding scholarship or student needs programs.

Important: Educate and Grow Scholarship Program criteria require completion of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) annually.  You may access the FAFSA by visiting www.fafsa.ed.gov.  Contact the Financial Aid Office at 423.323.0252 if you have questions or need assistance in completing the FAFSA. Individuals are also encouraged to apply for other Northeast State Scholarships and the Educational Access and Diversity Scholarship Program.
