PBS Video Index

The PBS Video Index of America's History and Culture is a collection of over 400 videos or over 21,000 minutes of video documenting, describing, and teaching a vast amount of information concerning America's History and Culture.

All of the content on the videos is indexed in a print index, located in the AV room of the Library or online via the internet at the PBS Video Database web site.

The online index is easy to use and is a valuable source for further information. The online index allows you to search all the videos and find out which tape the information is on and the exact minute and second where the information is on the tape. A small time-counter is located in the bottom right hand corner of the screen of each video, giving the user easy access and search capabilities.

The online index also provides teaching aids, primary documents, and valuable commentary on each subject presented.

The online index can be used by anyone at any time, however, to obtain the extra materials (teaching aids, primary documents, etc.) a username and password must be used.

This Username and Password must be used:

Username - nstcc
Password - nstcclibrary

(Both are case sensitive and must be lower case)

To access the database simply go to http://videoindex.pbs.org and click on Search at the top of the screen.
