Student Health Insurance

We encourage every student to have health insurance. If you do not have health insurance, a private provider plan for Northeast State students made available by the Tennessee Board of Regents may be purchased. The plan's coverage and costs have been negotiated by the Tennessee Board of Regents. Brochures are available in the Office of Health Services, Room C2113 of the General Studies Building.

Information about the TBR contracted policy, eligibility, enrollment, claims, and cards is available online at

To obtain more information about coverage and cost, please contact the servicing agent Pearce & Pearce Customer Service.

Health Insurance Marketplace, sometimes known as the health insurance "exchange"

The Marketplace is a new way to find quality health coverage. It can help if you don’t have coverage now or if you have it but want to look at other options. With one Marketplace application, you can learn if you can get lower costs based on your income, compare your coverage options side-by-side, and enroll.

The Marketplace will also tell you if you qualify for free or low-cost coverage available through Medicaid or the Children's Health Insurance Program (CHIP).

Most Americans are eligible to use the Marketplace.

Open enrollment ends March 31, 2014. The proposed open enrollment period for 2015 is November 15, 2014 - January 15, 2015.
