NORTHEAST STATE COMMUNITY COLLEGE CHECKLIST for AB&T/TAA/WIA Participants
In order to be able to have the information necessary to prepare your contract for approval, you must have completed the following steps:
_____1. Submit a completed Northeast State Community College Application to the Admissions Office.
_____2. Pay the $10.00 application fee to the Business Office.
_____3. Submit high school transcript and all college transcripts, if applicable, to the
You will not be able to register for classes until your high school transcript, high school equivalency or GED scores have been received in the Admissions Office.
_____4. Submit ACT or SAT scores, if they are less than 3 years, to the Admissions Office.
_____5. Take the placement test, COMPASS. [You must pay a $5.00 testing fee in the Business Office before taking the test.] More information can be found at www. Northeaststate.edu/testing or by calling 423.323.0211.
_____6. Submit verification of MMR vaccination to the Admissions Office if you were born after January 1, 1957.
(Note: documentation may be found in the high school transcript.)
_____7. Sign Hepatitis B Immunization Health History Form and submit to Admissions.
____ 8. Submit proof of 2 doses of Varicella (Chicken Pox) vaccine (if you were born after 1979) to Admissions.
_____9. Sign up with the Enrollment Services Office (423.323.0229) for on-campus Orientation/Registration.
____10. Make a final decision on your chosen program of study and schedule an appointment to meet with an advisor from the Student Success Center (423.323.0214). During this meeting you will secure the following documentation:
a. Course curriculum for selected program of study, INCLUDING ANY REQUIRED LEARNING SUPPORT COURSES
b. Tuition and fee cost information sheet
c. Textbook list
d. SIX SEMESTER PLANNING WORKSHEET showing all coursework to be taken each semester
*Please be advised that while some classes can be taken at Northeast State at Kingsport or Northeast State at Elizabethton, most will be taken at our main campus in Blountville.
_____11. Complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
_____12. Take documentation to your AB&T/WIA/TAA counselor.
REMEMBER, YOUR CONTRACT CANNOT BE CONSIDERED FOR APPROVAL UNTIL THE ABOVE STEPS ARE COMPLETED.
