This course is for individuals who are interested in working in the Pulp and Paper Industry. This course introduces students to pulp and papermaking technology including equipment, processes, and terminology. Topics include an overview of power generation, recovery, woodyard, pulping, paper machine, finishing, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to describe the paper making process and the equipment used in the papermaking process.

This is an online non-credit course. Students receive Continuing Educations Units (CEU) and a Certificate of Completion.

Course Activity:
A field trip to Domtar Paper Company, LLC will be scheduled for the second week of this course.

Employment Opportunity:
Students who meet the National Career Readiness Certificate (NCRC) preferred requirements of Domtar; who have submitted an application with the Tennessee Career Center, and who successfully complete the course requirements will be offered an opportunity to take Domtar's employment test and interview.
