Behavioral and
Social Sciences
The division of Behavioral and Social Sciences provides instruction in criminal justice and criminology, economics, education, early childhood education, geography, mass and speech communications, physical education, political science, psychology, sociology and social work.
Courses offered by the division are designed to fulfill the general education course requirements in technical education programs and to prepare students in the university parallel programs to transfer to four-year colleges and universities. Learning Support reading and
learning strategies courses prepare students for college-level course work if placement scores indicate a need.
Early Childhood Education (A.A.S.) Program Outcome Data 2022 (NAEYC Accreditation)
The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Early Childhood Education at Northeast State Community College is accredited by the Commission on the Accreditation of Early Childhood Higher Education Programs of the National Association for the Education of Young Children, 1401 H St. NW, Suite 600, Washington DC 20005. The current accreditation term runs from March 2020 through March 2027.
