Military Friendly Schools
Northeast State has recently been honored for the tenth consecutive year by being selected as a Military Friendly School. This year Northeast State was awarded the Military Friendly Silver Designation in the Small Community College category. This is awarded to schools who meet the requirements and score within 20% of the 10th ranking school in their category. This award is evidence of Northeast State’s commitment to giving our veterans the service and education they deserve. Veterans Education Transition Support (VETS) Campus Designation
Tennessee Veterans Education Transition Support (VETS) Act, Public Chapter 612, Acts of 2014, established a program of recognition for higher education institutions which provide comprehensive support to aid veterans in transitioning from military service to enrollment at public institutions of higher learning. Northeast State Community College has acted with initiative to assist our veterans in their pursuit of education and has created a supportive environment where these students can prosper. Effective August 12, 2015 Northeast State Community College has been approved and awarded the distinction of becoming a VETS Campus.
Tennessee STRONG Act
Tennessee STRONG Act establishes a pilot program to provide eligible members of the Tennessee National Guard tuition funding toward a first time bachelor degree for the next four years through a tuition reimbursement program. If you believe you are eligible please complete the

Veterans Reconnect Grant
The Veterans Reconnect Grant will assist in the development and updating of policies and processes for translating military training to academic credit and to improve communication strategies to student veterans regarding prior learning assessment.
