Testing is by appointment only. Please review the
Testing Services Guidelines and information for each test before scheduling a test date.
Students who have been approved for testing accommodations and plan to test in the Accessibility Services office will need to schedule a date/time
online. Students are encouraged to schedule their test date as soon as possible, but at least two (2) days before the date required by their instructor. Dates/times will be open up to two (2) days, i.e. if you want to test on September 19th,
you must schedule by September 17th. By scheduling two (2) days before a test date we can make sure a low distraction environment is available for each student. If no testing dates/times are available or you cannot schedule two(2) days before you need to test, please contact Accessibility Services
at 423-279-7640 for scheduling assistance.
Hours for Testing
- Blountville Campus Testing hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Accessibility Services, email
accessibility@NortheastState.edu or call 423-279-7640.

Northeast State is an ACT-approved NCRC® WorkKeys Testing Center. Northeast State proctors the WorkKeys test at three campuses: Blountville, Johnson City, and Kingsport. When scheduling a test online, look at each campus to determine availability. A limited number of test sessions for first time test takers are available at no cost for current Northeast State students, former Northeast State
students, and community members. Check the WorkKeys (Kingsport – Free) or WorkKeys (Blountville – Free) for availability. Other dates are available for a fee. The fee is $13.00 per WorkKeys exam ($39 for all 3) for current Northeast State students and $22.00 per WorkKeys exam ($66 for all 3) for former Northeast
State students and community members.
The exam fee can be paid on the day of the test at the testing location or it can be paid prior to the day of testing. You must bring the receipt to check-in when testing. Instructions for payment are available once a test date is scheduled. On the Blountville campus, individuals
without a Northeast State parking pass must obtain a Visitor’s Pass from the Welcome Center to place in their cars during testing. Parking is available in Kingsport at the lot off Shelby Street next to Blazier-Wilson Hall and in Johnson City in the parking garage on Buffalo Street. Visitor passes are not
required in Kingsport or Johnson City.

Prepare for the test by using the free ACCUPLACER web-based sample tests on your computer, smartphone, or tablet at
https://accuplacerpractice.collegeboard.org/login. Create an account and select “Next-Generation Practice Tests”. Two options for preparation: 1) “Learn as You Go” provides immediate feedback after each question is submitted and includes an explanation for the correct response and 2) take the “Sample Tests”. The sample tests are similar to the real test, so you will know ahead of time what your experience will be like on test day. (Scores on the sample tests do not guarantee that you will receive a specific score on the actual ACCUPLACER test.)
