Dolly Parton's Imagination Library

Dolly Parton's Imagination Library is a program being implemented across the state of Tennessee that is open to all children under the age of 5 years and residing in a county that is part of the Imagination Library program. Imagination Library provides free books to children until their 5th birthday. One book is mailed to the child's home each month -- if you have more than one child registered in the program, each child will receive one book per month. All books are selected for the Imagination Library program by a panel of educators and are geared to the specific age of the child receiving the books.

Governor Phil Bredesen has set up a special foundation (Governor's Books from Birth Foundation) to assist Tennessee's 95 counties in their implementation of the program. To find out if your county is already participating in Dolly Parton's Imagination Library, check the website.

If you know of a child under the age of 5 who resides in any of the counties listed below, you can simply click on the link for that county's registration form, print out the form, fill it out, and return it to the Basler Library at Northeast State's Blountville campus, and we will make sure that the correct agency receives the registration form. Once the registration form is received by the county coordinator, it will take approximately 4-6 weeks for your child to begin receiving his/her books.
