Tutoring is available On Campus and Online for Fall 2023!

• On Campus (Blountville)
• Online (Zoom, email, phone)
• Note:  Not every subject is available on every campus.

Please email TLC@NortheastState.edu to schedule online tutors or in-person tutors by appointment.

Provide the following information:

• Name
• Student ID number (900######), if possible
• Course number or title
• Instructor’s name, if possible
• Session preference:  in person, online, or either
• Description of the assignment and/or content with which you need help
• Best phone number at which to reach you
• Times which would be convenient for you to work with a tutor

If sending a writing assignment or research paper for feedback, you will need to include:

• A draft of your writing assignment or research paper (as a Word document)
• A copy of the assignment description with was provided by your instructor
• A grading rubric, if one was provided by the instructor

We often return feedback within a couple of hours. 

However, due to staffing differences on different days, we ask that you allow up to 2 business days for feedback when planning your writing schedule.

If needing help with math or science problems, you may prefer to send:

• A screenshot of specific problems with which you need help, or
• Problems cut-and-pasted into your email.

This semester, TLC is also trying out a partnership with tutor.com, which will allow you to supplement our TLC services, which can be especially helpful if you need assistance with a very specialized subject or at hours that TLC tutors are not available.  This tutor.com service is available 24/7.  If you wish to contact tutor.com, look for the link in the D2L course for which you need help.
