Summer & Fall 2024 Registration

Spring 2024 registration for current students begins Monday, April 1, 2024 at 7:30 a.m.. Students can register online through their MyNortheast account.

All degree and certificate seeking students are required to speak with an academic advisor prior to registering for classes. Student accounts will have advising holds preventing adding and dropping classes. Students can schedule an appointment with their academic advisor via the online scheduling system through the link below.

First time college students will register for classes during their new student advising and registration day. Students will receive a mailed letter with information regarding signing up for a date. Registration and advising for new students will begin April 2024 through the first day of classes (Fall classes begin August 26th for a listing of summer session start dates, please view the academic calendar).

Schedule an Advising Appointment

Do I have to meet with an advisor before I am allowed to register for classes?

Yes! All students who are degree seeking (not special non-degree) must meet with an academic advisor before registering for classes.  During these advising sessions, advisors will ensure each student has the correct major listed on their account and provide an outline for what classes the student should take to graduate on time.  Taking classes that are not required for a students specific degree will result in financial aid not paying for the class and potentially not graduating on time. Meeting with an advisor to plan courses is very important!

Do I have to wait on my current semester grades before I register for classes?

No! Students can register for classes for the next semester before they receive their final grades.  If a student does not pass courses needed as pre-requisites, they will be administratively dropped from any future courses where the pre-requisite is required. Waiting until you receive final grades can negatively impact students by courses being full.

How do I know what courses I need to take?

Academic advisors will help students plan their academic courses for their selected major.  Additionally, all students have access to Degree Works, a degree audit program through their MyNortheast account.  For information on using degree works, visit the Degree Works website. Curriculum guides are also available for print through the academic catalog.

I am a new student, when can I register?

First time college students will register for classes during their new student advising and registration day. Students admitted for the spring 2024 semester will receive a mailed letter with information regarding signing up for a date by the end of November 2023. Students admitted for the summer or fall 2024 semesters will receive a mailed letter with information regarding signing up for a date by the end of March 2024. Transfer students can contact the Advising Resource Center at advising@NortheastState.edu to schedule an appointment with an academic advisor to register for classes.
