Northeast State Community College - We're here to get you there

Welcome, and thank you for your interest in a career with us!

Our application process is entirely online. You can apply from anywhere with an internet connection in a secure environment that allows you to track the position you have applied for.

Applicant Information

View all of our open positions at TBR.edu. We only accept online applications to the specific position advertised.

If the position requires a degree greater than high school, you will need a resume and your unofficial transcripts (not a copy of your diploma). Your application will be disqualified without these documents. A cover letter is optional.

If the position does not require a degree, a prepared resume and cover letter are optional. You will be able to fill in your employment and education history within the application.

Note: It is a Class A Misdemeanor to misrepresent academic credentials, pursuant to Tenn. Code Ann. § 49-7-133.

Our positions are posted for either 14 or 30 days, with the exception of pool postings. The deadline for each position is listed in the job ad. You must complete and submit your application before that date and time to be considered.

The pay rate or range for each position is listed in the job ad. If it is a range, it is based on the requirements for the position and your education and experience. Visit this page for more information about our salary grade structure. Different positions are set at different grades based on responsibilities.

We offer eligible employees a comprehensive benefits package that includes health, dental, vision, pharmacy, life insurance, EAP services, flexible spending accounts, short-term disability, long-term disability, retirement, 401k, paid holidays, annual/personal leave, sick leave, educational assistance programs, and so much more! You can learn more about our benefits on this page.

No. We ask questions specific to each position in the application, so no two applications are the same.

We do not contact candidates who are not selected to interview, but you will receive an automated email when the position has closed. If you are selected to interview, you will usually hear from the hiring manager to schedule an interview in the few weeks after the posting deadline. If you interview but are not selected, you will hear from the hiring manager soon after your interview.

If you have questions about any part of the hiring process, please email  HRStaffing@NortheastState.edu or call Emma McMullen at 423-354-5183. We can also help with applications and have a computer available if you do not have access to one to apply.

Total Compensation

Potential applicants and current employees are invited to download and complete the Total Compensation Calculator to determine their total compensation based on the position’s proposed salary or an employee’s current salary. This will give you a clear picture on what additional benefits the College is providing for you and outline the options available to you.
