D.O.A. by Elizabeth Lovelady
Directed by TJ Kent

Frank Bigelow walks into a police station to report a murder: his own. One day earlier, the small-time accountant kissed his girlfriend and secretary, Paula, goodbye and left on a trip to San Francisco with mysterious intentions. Shortly after he arrives, he's invited to join a group of rowdy businessmen celebrating with their clients after a successful market week. After a wild night of drinking, he wakes feeling ill. A doctor and detective arrive to deliver tragic news—Bigelow has been poisoned, and he only has hours left to live. Bigelow frantically searches the city for his killer and the reason he was targeted. Each person he encounters gives him a piece of the story that includes a mysterious suicide, a shady business deal gone wrong, and conniving women. But can he believe anything he hears?

Appalachian Express Chorus

Appalachian Express Chorus: “Still Singing After All These Years”

The Appalachian Express Chorus is a nonprofit organization which promotes community singing with the Barbershop Harmony style.  It is a chapter within the international organization known as the Barbershop Harmony Society based out of Nashville, TN.  Through the resources of the international organization, local chapters have the ability to help music programs in local schools to develop the culture of singing as a hobby throughout life for all people – not just for gifted singers who can do it professionally.

The present chorus consist of about 40 men under the direction of Mark Kettner.  They see themselves more as a community of friends who happen to like to sing.  With that kind of spirit in mind, Appalachian Express has invited the Hills are Alive chorus to be a part of their show.  They are a women’s a cappella chorus based in Bristol, TN that sings barbershop style music.  The special headline quartet, Brouhaha, is also made up of members who have made singing a lifetime hobby within a community of like-minded people.

The hope of the participants of this show is not just to entertain you, but to inspire you to sing in the shower more often, hum a little more while working and find a group where you can sing, not because you're talented, but because you like to sing.
