Northeast State Community College - We're here to get you there

Counseling

Counseling Services provides a welcoming and safe place for students. We know college is a place of transition. Whether a one-time visit or short-term coaching and counseling over several weeks, staff have a desire to listen to students empathetically, and provide students encouragement and support. Students are assured confidentiality.

Personal counseling is provided by a licensed professional counselor or a master’s level social work graduate student. All services are free for students.

Coaching and counseling provide the opportunity for students to:

  • Focus on one’s mental well-being
  • Work through past struggles, losses, and current challenges
  • Set goals, develop new habits and/or attitudes

At times, students are referred to community mental health agencies or support services in order for them to be better served.
