History of Hip-Hop chronicles the evolution of African-American music from the field song to hip-hop!

Bass vocalist Jonathan Blanchard is a touring & recording artist from Memphis, TN who currently resides in Atlanta. Through his music, he breathes life into history, captivating audiences as a teaching artist.

A graduate of Tennessee State University with a B.S. Degree in Commercial Music and M.S. Degree in Music Education, Blanchard has over 15 years of experience providing workshops that blend music, theatre, history, and social studies for students, teachers, and others.

The workshop and concert are co-sponsored by UMOJA, the Tennessee Arts Commission, and Northeast State L.E.A.D. Center.
