This award is evidence of Northeast State's commitment to giving our veterans the service and education they deserve. Veterans Education Transition Support (VETS) Campus Designation

The Tennessee Veterans Education Transition Support (VETS) Act, Public Chapter 612, Acts of 2014, established a program of recognition for higher education institutions which provide comprehensive support to aid veterans in transitioning from military service to enrollment at public institutions of higher learning. Northeast State Community College has acted with initiative to assist our veterans in their pursuit of education and has created a supportive environment where these students can prosper. Effective August 12, 2015 Northeast State Community College has been approved and awarded the distinction of becoming a VETS Campus.

Military Prior Learning Assessment

The Veterans Reconnect Grant assisted in the development and updating of policies and processes for translating military training to academic credit and to improve communication strategies to student veterans regarding prior learning assessment.
