Counseling and Testing Services

Welcome! The purpose of Counseling and Testing Services is to provide short-term counseling, referral, and resources for college students and to coordinate the administration of college testing. The success of Northeast State students is important to our office staff; therefore, we are committed to providing a safe, confidential setting for students to talk and a professional environment for quality assessment and testing services for the college and community.

COLLEGE TESTING

One of our college Testing Centers is the first stop for many students when they come to take their COMPASS and/or MyMathTest placements and one of the final stops for all graduates as they take the Proficiency Profile exit exam. Other proctored tests are the A2 nursing entrance exam, CLEP exams, and proctored RODP exams. Distance Education exams are proctored for non-Northeast State students for a fee.

COUNSELING

Many students become overwhelmed in college; experience relationship problems; feel anxious, depressed, and stressed; or need help balancing college/life. Assessment, referral, and free, short-term counseling are available on the Blountville campus.Counseling services may be provided by a master's level graduate student working as an intern at Northeast State.

GED®

Northeast State is an official GED® Testing Center. Paper-and-pencil or computer-based GED® testing is available. GED® transcripts are available for students who received their GED® diploma through our Testing Center.
