The COMPASS test and MyMath Test are available on the Bristol, Blountville, Elizabethton, and Kingsport sites. Testing in Blountville is available several days each week. It is available in Kingsport several days each month, and limited to once a month in Bristol and Elizabethton. There is a $5.00 testing fee for first time test takers. A reminder will be sent to your email account. For practice tests and more information, go to COMPASS. All scheduling is completed online. (Northeast State also proctors COMPASS for non-Northeast State students who will attend other colleges. The testing fee is $25.)
The cost for each CLEP exam is $105; $80.00 is paid to the College Board and $25.00 is paid to Northeast State. Scheduling a CLEP test requires two steps. First, create an online account at the College Board and pay the $80.00 per exam. The $80.00 fee cannot be paid in the Testing Center. The $25.00 CLEP Registration fee must be paid at the Cashier's Office (Room P203A) on the second floor of the James Pierce Administration Building on the main campus in Blountville prior to testing. This fee may be paid on the same day of the scheduled test. Go to CLEP for information about study materials and CLEP exams accepted for credit at Northeast State. INFS (CSCI) Credit-by-Exam. The Request for Credit by Examination Form must be obtained in Room F211 of the Faculty Office Building.(This exam does not fulfill ETSU's Computer Proficiency Requirement.) After obtaining the form, a test date may be scheduled. The exam is only available on the Blountville campus. The $25.00 fee must be paid at the Cashier's Office (Room P203A) on the second floor of the James Pierce Administration Building on the main campus in Blountville prior to testing. Distance Education and Employee Certification exams
. Northeast State proctors computer-based and paper exams for Distance Learners and certification tests for employers. It is the responsibility of the test-taker to make sure Testing Services has your test and/or proctoring information. Home institutions or companies may email us at testing@NortheastState.edu
for verifying information. Test-takers are responsible to pay postage when paper exams must be mailed back to the home institution. There is a $25 fee for each proctored exam. Please check the online schedule for availability. If dates are not available, then email us at testing@NortheastState.edu

Exit Exam (Proficiency Profile/Exit Exam). This exam is required for graduation. Testing is available on the Blountville and Kingsport campuses. When scheduling a test date, select the location, test date, and time. Provide your name, phone numbers, and an email address. A reminder will be sent to your email account. Only students who have submitted a graduation application and received notification from the Office of Admissions and Records may test.
Nursing Entrance Exams. The A2 is required for all students applying to Northeast State's A.A.S. Nursing program. Testing will open Spring 2016.

Make-Up Tests. Students may take a make-up test Mondays - Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. and Fridays from 8:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon (closed Thursdays) when space is available. No appointment necessary however, due to limited space students may need to wait for a free workstation. It is the responsibility of the instructor to send the test or password to the Testing Center. Photo identification (driver’s license or Northeast State ID) is required for admittance to testing.
